Joan Dewe MA

Joan is an international lecturer, Chartered Natural Medicine Practitioner, NZ Registered Kinesiopractor®, member of ATMS and Life member of KPAB and AIK.

Like Bruce, she was first exposed to Applied Kinesiology in 1977 when she attended chiropractor Dr. Robert Willinsky DC, in Camarillo, California. She witnessed first-hand the power of NLs , NVs, spindles and golgis as Dr Willinsky pushed on arms and legs and gave her more relief from an old netball injury than she had ever experienced. This sparked an interest in her as a teacher and soon she was helping Bruce with TFH classes and balances. She became a TFH Instructor in 1979 and was appointed to the TFH Faculty by Dr.John Thie in 1982. With Bruce she taught dozens of TFH workshops around NZ and hosted and chaired the first NZ Touch for Health Annual Meeting in 1982 (and stayed in that role for many years).

Joan had graduated with a Masters degree in French with Latin, Greek and English as minors. After she married Bruce in 1965 she worked at the Wellcome Medical Research centre doing basal blood pressure research. Joan has a wonderful business acumen and while Bruce worked as a hospital superintendent she taught at a private school and also built up a holiday resort on NZ’s Coromandel peninsula that became booked up a year in advance. It was here, at student request, she and Bruce developed the ‘extra-skills’ workshops that became the PKP 1 - 4 of the late 1980s and early 90s.

She later co-ordinated all the historical and current research into a format that not only worked with Bruce’s Database on your hand but also met the demands of NZQA’s requirement for a systematic, progressive, educationally sound curriculum with purpose statements, elements of learning and performance criteria.

One of their two daughters had dyslexia so Joan specialised in working with educational challenges at their Auckland clinic. She was Principal of the South Pacific Kinesiology College that taught the NZQA’s 3,800 hr Diploma of Kinesiology (and the ‘extra’ bits from Bruce’s research) that became Kinesiopractic®. The K-Power® community workshops enabling non-kinesiology practitioners to taste the wonders of PKP™ followed soon after. After experiencing the power of NeoLife’s Formula IV in transforming Bruce’s auto-immune disease, Joan has also developed a huge network marketing business that spans the globe. Her ready wit, infectious laugh and clear, step-wise presentations are legendary.
