Since 1984, when the college was incorporated, the directors Dr Bruce and Mrs Joan Dewe have developed and taught a successful kinesiology programme called Professional Kinesiology Practice (PKP) which has been taught in 20 countries, and eight languages, around the world. Now, the South Pacific Kinesiology College has its own buildings, which overlook the clear, still waters of the Panmure basin in Auckland, NZ, as well as campuses in Albany, Hamilton and Nelson. Quality assurance in Kinesiology education is our watchword. SPKC offers training to the standard required for Registration in NZ by the NZQA and the KPAB. using the internationally recognised PKP Certification Programme™. The SPKC is registered as a private training establishment (PTE) by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority(NZQA) under the provisions of the Education Act 1989 and its subsequent amendments. SPKC is the only registered PTE in NZ offering Kinesiology training. Ministry of Education: Code # 7541 SPKC offers classes which meet the requirements of the NZQA for the NZ National Diploma in Kinesiology. (level 7) The SPKC is offering a double qualification programme in association with the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) a B. App Sci. from AUT and the NZ National Diploma in KInesiology from SPKC. NZ Registered Kinesiologists undertake a 4 year training prior to examination and registration by the Kinesiology Practitioners Accreditation Board (KPAB). Beware: Many natural health practitioners take a few short courses (weekends) in using muscle testing and call themselves kinesiologists. Only Registered Kinesiologists have taken the 3000 hour training approved by KPAB. The SPKC Principal is Joan Dewe MA NZRK MATMS MKIA. Your teachers will include: Pam Tennant NZRK, Nancy Doherty NZRK and Dr Bruce Dewe MD NZRK MICAK MATMS MKIA. Joan and Bruce are the founders of both SPKC and the ICPKP. Kinesiology is the most modern complimentary medicine programme available. Kinesiology is mind-body, energetic medicine. The PKP Certification Programme™ which leads to the NZ National Diploma in Kinesiology. (level 7) is made up of 60 units (modules) each which encompass 20 hours class time and 40 hours of self- and peer directed learning. Some units are taken externally, and there is one which can be taken as a correspondence course. There will be classes to suit most timetables. SPKC is offering the Diploma in Kinesiology as: - a four year Diploma programme (2 mornings a week or 1 evening a week plus one Sunday in three, a distant learning option of 9 four-day sessions is also available).
